0-76 in Four Overs – Archer Registers Unwanted IPL Bowling Record

Jofra Archer Sets Unwanted IPL Record with 0-76 in Four Overs

England’s speedster Jofra Archer recorded the most expensive bowling figures in IPL history, conceding 76 runs without a wicket in just four overs during Rajasthan Royals’ 44-run defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The previous record belonged to India’s Mohit Sharma, who leaked 73 runs for Gujarat Titans against Delhi Capitals in 2024.

While Archer’s figures now stand as the costliest in IPL, the most expensive T20 international spell remains with Gambia’s Musa Jobarteh, who conceded 93 runs against Zimbabwe in 2023. Among Test-playing nations, Sri Lanka’s Kasun Rajitha holds the unwanted record with 0-75 against Australia in 2019.

Sunrisers Hyderabad unleashed a relentless batting assault, amassing 286-6—just one run short of their own IPL record. India’s Ishan Kishan starred with a blistering 106 off 47 balls, supported by Travis Head’s explosive 67 off 31. The Royals’ chase showed glimpses of resistance through Sanju Samson (66 off 37) and Dhruv Jurel (70 off 35), but the mammoth target proved too steep as they fell short at 242-6.

With this emphatic win, Sunrisers stamped their authority early in IPL 2025, while Rajasthan Royals will look to bounce back from a nightmarish bowling performance.
