Audio from air traffic control captured the crew reporting a possible bird strike and requesting an immediate return to the airport. Moments later, another transmission suggested that an engine may have detached from the right wing. The strike reportedly occurred just a few hundred feet off the ground.

The aircraft, which was en route to Indianapolis, declared an emergency and returned safely to Newark after sustaining engine damage. All three crew members on board exited the plane safely.
