Disney+ has officially announced a revival of the beloved sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle,” with original cast members Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield returning to their roles as Francis and Reese, respectively. Notably, the character of Dewey, originally portrayed by Erik Per Sullivan, will be recast with actor Caleb Ellsworth-Clark stepping into the role.
The revival will consist of four episodes, focusing on Malcolm and his daughter being drawn back into the family’s chaos during Hal and Lois’s 40th wedding anniversary celebration. Production is set to begin in Vancouver in April 2025.
In addition to Masterson and Berfield, other original cast members reprising their roles include Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan Cranston as Hal, and Jane Kaczmarek as Lois. New characters will also be introduced: Anthony Timpano will portray Jamie, the youngest brother; Vaughan Murrae will play Kelly, the youngest child of Lois and Hal; Keeley Karsten will take on the role of Leah, Malcolm’s daughter; and Kiana Madeira will appear as Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend.
